When you’re drunk you’re hostile, aggressive and often violent
You see what you want, regret nothing at all
You’re extremely loud or just silent
When you’re drunk there’s no pain, but yet you’re still so easily hurt
When you’re drunk it’s pure bliss, the room spins while being inert
When you’re drunk it’s much better, a bit like the feeling over love
When you’re drunk it’s much better, you treat me like no one else does
When you’re drunk I’m aware, sometimes I’m a bit much to bare
When you’re drunk I believe, that maybe I should get up and leave
When you’re drunk I cry, I scream and sometimes bleed
I guess that makes me like you… I guess you just need to be free
Free from the strains of life, the stress of living under the knife
I know I complain a lot…and the drink is your only way out
It’s not easy being you, it’s a task a chore I’ve no doubt
But it’s so much better when you’re drunk
The sun shines that little bit brighter
Though I’ve a busted lip and a blackened eye, three broken ribs and can no longer cry
When you’re drunk it’s still so much better
I can blame the pain on the alcohol and see this as more than a penance
Live under false hope and pretence
That you hit me because you’re drunk and really you do still love me…
